2008 November > Amica Mature Lifestyles Hosts Third Annual
Amica Mature Lifestyles hosted its third successful Helping Hands Golf Tournament on September 22 at Royal Woodbine Golf Club in Toronto. The Amica Helping Hands Community Program (a licensed not-for-profit organization) was established by Amica Mature Lifestyles™, Inc., owner and operator of luxury retirement residences across Canada, in 2003 to help brighten the lives of less fortunate seniors.
For the past three years, Helping Hands has hosted two annual golf tournaments – one in the west and one in the east - that have raised, not counting this year’s donations, over $230,000. All donations from the Tournaments are distributed directly to seniors in need in the form of individual baskets filled with warm clothing and non-perishable foods in December, and through hospitals, community outreach programs and community centres supporting seniors for equipment such as wheelchairs.
