2008 November > JDRF York Ride for Diabetes
The annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Ride for Diabetes Research aims at raising as much money as possible each year to help the fight against this horrible disease. It has a track record of being one of the most fun & exciting fundraising events around. On event day, people across the country gather in teams and take turns riding a stationary bike in 8 minute intervals for 40 minutes. Many teams like to compete to see who can clock the most kilometers, raise the most money, show the most spirit, and make the most noise. This sure was the case at the York Region event that was held at Le Parc in Markham.
We caught up with many of the teams and it seemed as though everyone was having a blast, even a little rain wasn’t getting in the way. This year’s event in York Region raised close to $200,000 for this great cause.
