McHappy Day in Maple
On May 5th, more than 1400 McDonald's restaurants across Canada celebrated McHappy Day. SNAP Vaughan East had the pleasure of catching up with former WWE star, and owner of Stratusphere Yoga Studio, Trish Stratus at the McDonald’s located at Jane and Rutherford. Stratus helped staff members serve up delicious Egg McMuffins, Hash Browns and coffee during breakfast.
One dollar from every McMuffin, Happy Meal, and Big Mac was donated to the Toronto Ronald McDonald House in a fundraising effort to build a house which could structurally accommodate eighty families at once.
The undertaking would mean the LARGEST Ronald McDonald house in the World could be assembled with the help of those who took part in the proceedings. Since McHappy Day was introduced in 1977, over 25 million dollars has been raised for numerous charities across Canada including the aforementioned Ronald McDonald House, as well as other local children’s charities.
