"The Big Give" in support of JDRF

“The Big Give Gala” in support of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) took place on March 13th at the West River Banquet Hall. The evening featured superb food for every taste, live music, a casino and a Chinese auction featuring many donations from local business entities. Raro House and Matador BJJ for instance, donated Gift Certificates and free passes for a week , among other prizes, as an indication of their commitment to providing for those in need.
Diabetes can be an extremely difficult disease to cope with; for the victims of the disease and their families. According to the JDRF website, “approximately one-half million North Americans die as a result of diabetes and its complications like heart and kidney disease, stroke, blindness and amputation each year.” Events like “The Big Give” can only provide hope for a better future, as funds raised go directly to research initiatives.
