Dance for the Cure
“Don’t Stop Believing” was the central theme surrounding the Lupus Dance for the Cure, which was in partnership with the Pediatric Lupus Clinic at Sick Kids Hospital, Lupus Ontario, and the Arthritis and Autoimmunity Research Centre (AARC). The inherent belief in finding a cure is the positivity needed to help conquer Lupus.
Lupus is a devastating disease that continues to claim the lives of those infected, with the onset of Lupus causing immense suffering to the individuals and their families.
On January 30th, Dance for the Cure was an 80’s inspired event held at The Terrace Banquet Centre in Concord. It brought out the best of the decade. The event gave people a chance to dress up in 80’s fashion, dance to retro music, and have a great time for a great cause. There was live music, tons of food, and lots of laughter.
While everyone had a great time celebrating, it was important to remember why the fundraiser was held. All funds raised from selling tickets were divided among the Pediatric Clinic, the AARC, and Lupus Ontario.
This dinner dance has become a tradition over the last decade. It has raised awareness of Lupus, while breaking the million-dollar barrier in funds to bring us one step closer to a cure.
