Local Tennis Player Defies Odds to Take Home Title
On Saturday January 23rd, love was in the air for Emile Riga at the Mayfair Tennis Club. No, Emile didn’t meet his soul mate, Riga merely shutout and shutdown the competition en route to capturing the championship in his age group. Emile’s rise to the top started with a stumble, but after losing his first match the youngster from Maple proceeded to best his next FOUR opponents, including a match he had to win 6-0 to advance to the playoff round. Riga’s determination serves as an inspiration to people regardless of age, and we, at SNAP, would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Emile on this great accomplishment.
