Canada vs U.S. at Boston Pizza
Mayoral candidate Mario Racco hosted an event at Boston Pizza on February 21st, which coincided with the Canada/U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey Tilt. The heated rivalry on the screen was enough to juice up a PACKED bar area, as a sea of Red & White jerseys and “Go Canada,” chants filled the room. Marita Payne, 1984 Olympic silver medalist, was supposed to also be present but due to an illness, she was unable to attend.
During the game, Boston Pizza staff held a draw to give away Team Canada jerseys, as 5 lucky candidates took home prizes. While the outcome of the game could have been different, the U.S. defeated Canada 5-3, the atmosphere at the event was electric from puck-drop to the final buzzer.
