PrepE Launched in Vaughan

The City of Vaughan has launched the “PrepE” Emergency Preparedness Campaign to better inform residents about the risk of disasters and the need for a family emergency plan.
“Being prepared for any type of emergency is everyone’s responsibility – residents, businesses, community agencies and governments,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. In conjunction with Emergency Preparedness Week being held May 1-7, the PrepE Campaign challenges every resident to take one hour during the week to create a family or personal emergency plan, identify home escape routes and meeting places, and to put together a 72-hour emergency survival kit. The City has created three video messages and a PrepE Facebook page, as well as introduced PrepE the penguin mascot, as part of the public education program. Residents are encouraged to ‘Become a PrepE Pal’ and email PrepE@vaughan.ca for more information.
