Tuscan Nights: The Vaughan Hospital Gala
The 5th Annual Vaughan Hospital Gala provided a glimpse at the progress that has been made to bring a much needed hospital to the citizens of this city. Approximately 1,000 people, ranging from dignitaries in the public and private sectors, as well as concerned citizens, made the “Tuscan Nights” themed Gala Dinner an unprecedented success. The tastes and sounds of Tuscany were prevalent throughout The Terrace Banquet Hall on October 21st as guests parked their vehicles in the parking lot of a hall in Vaughan, and stepped through the doors into an Italian wonderland. The evening featured a delicious meal, a spirited Live Auction that featured such prizes as a trip to St.Kitts and even a brand new FIAT 500. After the first course the building rocked as Canadian music legend Andy Kim played a set which included a blend of classics and songs off of his new album. Sensation then took over causing the dance floor to fill up pretty quickly after dessert. The Gala Committee deserves kudos as they, along with the dedicated staff and volunteers from the Vaughan Health Care Foundation, worked together to create an event that brought in $1,000,000 in funds raised. With events like Tuscan Nights, the day that a hospital is built right here in Vaughan becomes much closer to a reality.
