Good Friday Charity Benefit Concert
The Cantabile Choir of York Region made their way to Thornhill United Church recently for a delightful Good Friday Concert that had all in attendance, which included many of different faiths and cultures, ready to kick-start their Easter long weekend in style. The group welcomed local church choristers and a guest instrumental to help raise funds for the Rose of Sharon Services to Young Mothers and Hill House Hospice – two very important charities right here in York Region. Audience members were also encouraged to open their hearts and wallets by donating “whatever they could” to the selected charities, meaning the donations, regardless of the denomination, came straight from the hearts of donors. Rev. Bill Bruce was also on hand, providing lectures regarding the importance of the season on family and the community as a whole. The event was as enlightening as it was entertaining and all who left the church after the show, were surely in the holiday spirit as they made their way back home to their families.
