St. Michael Catholic Academy Open House

St. Michael Catholic Academy is an arts-focused Elementary School for students within the York Catholic District School Board. Currently located at the former Woodland PS in Thornhill, St. Michael's is expected to open its new state of the art facility in September 2012. On April 15th, the School welcomed the public to an Open House where parents were able to receive more information regarding the new facility and registration. According to a release, the school “has an enhanced focus on the arts, offering about 280 minutes of arts programming per week, on top of the usual academic curriculum.” This was music to the ears of many parents searching for the right place to nurture the talents of their youngsters. With no auditions necessary, the arts program is geared towards steering children from grades 4-8 in the direction of specialist teachers, in place to bring out every ounce of potential in their students. The open house proved to many that the school just may be the right place to nurture artistic talent in order to fully open doors to new possibilities in the future.
