The Peer Project Making a Difference in Vaughan
It’s like an all girls clubhouse except instead of being in a tree, these girls have their feet firmly on the ground at the local Maple Community Centre. The Girls Only program is offered by The Peer Project, originally known as Youth Assisting Youth. This program has been designed to teach these girls the importance of taking care of themselves through maintaining a healthy lifestyle. SNAP caught up with this amazing group of girls on July 20th to find out what sort of fun they would be having that day. After taking a few photos, the girls gathered together for a group discussion, followed by a group activity. Later that afternoon, everyone participated in an energetic yoga class and enjoyed a healthy cooking class. The Girls Only program will be running all summer long, for more information visit www.yay.org.
