Fall Family Fiesta

The successful "Growing To Give Garden" Pilot Project was celebrated on October 13th at a Fall Family Fiesta. Once there, guests were able to learn about the project and spend time with Members of Council, local Firefighters, project partners and exceptional volunteers as they unveiled a new Outdoor Workshop area. There was a delicious light lunch and a brief seminar conducted by Kyla Dixon-Muir, author of "Growing to Eat Through All Four Seasons". Dixon-Muir touched on how to build cold frames and extend the gardening season. All guests were encouraged to sign up to participate in the "2015 New Food Gardens by the Year 2015" Challenge.
