4th Annual Hospice Vaughan Giving Thanks GAla
October is a month that all Canadians are given some time to take inventory of all the things they have in their lives to be thankful for during the Thanksgiving long weekend. For many people in this community, one of the places they are surely thankful for is located at 31 Woodbridge Ave. Hospice Vaughan is the place for families dealing with a loved one’s life-threatening illness and the journey that person faces each and every day. On October 12th, just a few short days after the Thanksgiving Holiday, the 2012 Hospice Vaughan Giving Thanks Gala gave everyone in attendance the chance to show their gratitude.
From the people who benefit to those who support the cause, everyone at the Terrace Banquet Hall that evening had a reason to be thankful and thanked all at the same time. With a fantastic dinner, a silent auction, and a raffle (which featured prizes donated by local companies such as Finch Centre Jewellers) a seat at one of the tables brought with it a lot of excitement. Couple all of that with performances by Bongo & B Entertainment, Carlo Coppola, Rugcutterz Danz Artz, as well as the D.J. Services of Veriation Music, and the energy inside was palpable. There were even people getting up between courses to enjoy a little dancing – and those who didn’t during dinner were more than happy to make their way to the floor after! This year’s gala was certainly one for the books and the Gala Committee and dedicated Hospice Vaughan Board of Directors deserve kudos for hosting a great night for their guests.
