Local Intergenerational Program Spreads Bieber Fever

The Maple Girl Guides, students from the Musaic School of Music and residents of Richview Manor recently began working together on a project that will use music to help create an incredible video and create lifelong friendships and relationships in the process. With Justin Bieber’s “All Around the World” as the song of choice, SNAP was recently invited to see the beginning stages of this ambitious partnership that includes participation on both sides of the lens from all parties. The outcome of this partnership will provide many benefits for the students, seniors, and volunteers. While the seniors get to rock out joyously like they may not have done in a while, the students and volunteers will hopefully gain a new perspective of the elderly through positive interaction. The song was chosen to show that all people, regardless of age, just want to be loved. And, after seeing the youths and seniors mingle on December 2nd, we can tell you there was plenty of love at Richview Manor that day – and we can’t wait to see the final outcome of this project.
