Holiday TweetUp
Normally when you go to a party and you see many of the people there staring at their cell phones, it’s safe to assume the party wasn’t a great success. That wasn’t the case recently at aloft Vaughan Mills, as a recent gathering lent itself to just that. The Holiday Tweetup, Co-organized by Kim Champion & Vaughan Mompreneurs owner Patricia Curto, aimed to, “provide a fun and informal venue where Vaughan residents and businesspeople who follow each other on Twitter can meet face-to-face.” That most certainly was the case on December 6th, as the interactions between many of the people there, some of whom have even communicated using the Social Media site and application, provided a chance to put faces to the handles their fellow partygoers use online. Prizes were given out throughout the night as guests were asked questions with which they had to answer correctly using Twitter (and the #Vaugahntweetup) in order to be the first to answer correctly and win. Also, aloft was rocking with live entertainment courtesy of solo artists Margo & Blake. It was a very unique hangout, as the fun and interactive setting really lent itself to great networking and a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a great night out.
