2013 Mayor's Luncheon

Approximately 500 people from Vaughan’s political and business communities gathered on January 23rd for Maurizio Bevilacqua’s 3rd Mayor’s Luncheon, which took place this year at La Primavera. This event is annually hosted by the Mayor with help from the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce. With his fellow members of council in attendance, the Mayor received plenty of support from his peers and guests, with the number of people taking part in the festivities setting a new attendance record. The mood was indeed extremely positive for guests, many of whom also relished the opportunity to network and reacquaint with friends and peers in the local business community – as the event presented the first chance for many to do so after the holiday season. As he has done in the past, while guests were seated and enjoying the hospitality afforded to them by the venue, Bevilacqua took the opportunity to thank each and every person in attendance for playing their roles in this city’s growth and prosperity. That growth was highlighted throughout his state of the city speech, highlighting such items as the growth in local business owners, the future Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, and a recent trade mission to Italy as reasons to be excited about Vaughan’s future.
