Richview Manor 2013 Fundraiser
While the people who reside at Richview Manor in Maple are used to world-class hospitality on a regular basis, a few guests recently gathered for an intimate, private function that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Master Chef and TV Personality Lidia Bastianich joined 75 guests, which included members of the media, local government, and the business community to help raise funds for a great cause. The Richview Manor Fundraiser gave guests the chance to meet with an icon in the food business, as Bastianich’s highly popular syndicated TV series and the books that she has penned, not to mention her immense success operating restaurants in New York, has made her an international superstar. Guests relished in the opportunity to chat with Lidia throughout the evening, while enjoying delicious food and exquisite wine courtesy of Lidia and the chefs at Richview Manor. The event served as Richview Manor’s Fundraiser in support of the Alzheimer Society of York Region. There was a live auction as well, which saw Universal Care CEO & President Joseph Gulizia serve as the auctioneer, where such prizes as 2 tickets to Bastianich’s sold-out Toronto show the following day brought in even more funds for the cause. There was also a brief cheque presentation that saw Gulizia and the executive of Richview Manor, as well as Lidia herself, present $6,500 to Loren Freid, Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society of York Region.
