McDonald's Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Saturday February 9th McDonald’s Canada invited the Maple community to join them in celebrating the opening of the “new” McDonald’s restaurant located at 2810 Major MacKenzie Drive. While all of the bells and whiteles were there for a new store, it was, in fact, a remodelling done in hte same location as McDonald's stood prior. The Grand Opening celebration included a Meet & Greet with Ronald McDonald and some of his friends, a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Vaughan, Maurizio Bevilacqua, at 1 p.m., product sampling and a free build-your-own Mini Sundae station. Everyone in attendance, many of whom just happened on the occasion while taking in their regular visit to the local restaurant, were extremely excited to have the chance to meet their favourite characters and take photos to go along with their meals that day. We're glad we could be a part of the occasion and we wish Doug and the staff nothing but success giving their guests a new look on an old favourite here in Maple.
