Family Day Skate Celebrates The James Fund
The winter season is an excellent time to perfect your skills on the ice. Everyone was certainly aware of that at the Family Day Skate event on February 17th. Held at the Sports Village, all guests were prepared with their skates, mitts and hats ready to go. Everyone interested in taking part in some ol' fashioned shinny hockey was also encouraged to do so!b M.P. Julian Fantino was on site for the official puck drop at the start of the event. This year’s public skate celebrated the James Fund For Neuroblastoma Research’s fundraising success—reaching $5 million for childhood cancer research at SickKids! Families who have dealt directly with neuroblastoma and helped to raise $5 million for childhood cancer research for SickKids were there to show their support. Free hot chocolates were given out to everyone in need of a warm drink after skating.
