One of many community groups that helped make the "Year of the Horse" kickoff a memorable one

Chinese New Year Celebrations at City Hall

The City of Vaughan hosted a special Chinese New Year celebration on February 16th. Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco, and the rest of City Council invited residents, community groups, businesses and City staff to take part in the festivities welcoming the Year of the Horse. While the crowd enjoyed the show in the main concourse of City Hall, in behind the cameras and audience chairs was an arts and crafts exhibition for children to take part in, courtesy of a number of volunteers. Many were excited for this year, the Year of the Horse, as this year is expected to bring prosperity and wealth.
