20 Minute Makeover in Vaughan

Vaughan residents took 20 minutes on Friday, April 25 to clean up litter in the community for the annual 20-Minute Makeover. More than 17,000 people from local schools, businesses and citizens groups participated in the event in honour of Pitch-In Canada Week and Earth Day.“The City of Vaughan continues to demonstrate environmental leadership and commitment to the protection of our local environment with another successful 20-Minute Makeover. By leading by example, promoting environmental awareness and working together to reduce our impacts on the environment, we will improve the health and prosperity of our community and ensure a more sustainable future for Vaughan," said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. Mayor Bevilacqua joined students and staff from Herbert H. Carnegie public school for this year’s kick-off event. Free garbage bags were provided by the City and plastic gloves were donated by Tim Hortons. This year, 45 schools, nine businesses and City of Vaughan staff participated in the 20-Minute Makeover.
