Heading out to plant some trees!

Spring Forest Festival

What better way to celebrate spring then by spending it in the forest! You could've taken a horse-drawn ride through the trails while learning how to protect and grow new forests. Those who were brave enough could hold a snake and learn conservation through education by Sciensational Sssnakes! Members of the Peregrine Falcon Foundation were there with some of their amazing birds of prey. Representatives from the Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust were educating us on how they could use your help with the protection of green space, clean and plentiful water. YMBA, the York Mountain Biking Assoc. were inviting people come out and ride the trails! Held at the Eldred King Forest, off Hwy 48, the main focus of the day was to plant some trees! People came out with their gloves and boots, grabbed a shovel and started planting. The event was free and open to anyone that wanted to learn about our beautiful forests, right in our back yard. This was an amazing annual event, be sure not to miss it next year!
