Mackenzie Health Foundation's 9th Annual Richview Manor Strides for Stroke
Despite the cold, rainy morning, a huge crowd of supporters joined the Mackenzie Health Foundation’s 9th annual Richview Manor Strides for Stroke 5K Run/Walk. Held at Richmond Green Park again this year, community members arrived to enjoy an invigorating walk/run. Walkers and runners of all ages joined forces to raise awareness and funds to support the York Region District Stroke Centre and other areas of great need at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital. To date, the run/walk has raised over well over $800,000 since 2006, including the $125,000 it raised this year! Since it’s inception, the committee has continued their efforts to bring people together to raise funds as a way to “ensure that stroke patients have rapid access to diagnosis and treatment, appropriate rehabilitation, and long-term care services.”
