York Regional Police Appreciation Night

There were a number of special guests in attendance for the 22nd Annual York Regional Police Appreciation Night. On May 13th, over 1000 guests, included among them officers and dignitaries, were expected to gather at the Paramount Conference Event Venue to pay their respects to the male and female officers working every day to keep our communities safe. Some of the highlights from this year’s event included the Grade 5 Chief for a Day Contest winning speech as well as the Police Officer of the Year awards. Many guests took the time to express their gratitude towards the York Regional Police for all of their hard work in their line of duty. Proceeds from this event will be going towards the Special Olympics Summer Games, Leo McArthur Leadership Camp, Future Aces Foundation, Domestic Violence Emergency Response System, youth band equipment, pipes and drums equipment, electronic bicycles, the Positive Strides Youth Mentorship Program and Crime Stoppers of York Region and much more. York Regional Police Appreciation Night was founded by a volunteer group of generous business owners who wanted to give back. Over the past few years, Police Appreciation Night has managed to raise over $2 million to help support community-based programs and equipment.
