Earn A Bike Program a Huge Hit

On June 24th, 57 kids from York Region were awarded their very own, brand new mountain bike, complete with bicycle helmet, bell and lock, as part of their participation in the Tim Hortons ‘Earn A Bike’ program - which ran in May and June. Participants between the ages of 9 and 12 years were selected by York Regional Police Services, who also coordinated the program and provided supervision, while the children were completing 30 hours of community service. The participants earned their volunteer hours by cleaning up local parks and schools, all in an effort to make the community a clean and safe place to live. This year, 423 kids will participate in the ‘Earn A Bike’ program across 17 regions in Ontario. Congratulations to all involved!
